Ryan Giggs breaks silence and finally shares his true stance on Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag

Ryan Giggs has made his stance clear on Erik ten Hag after the Manchester United manager has faced a turbulent Premier League season at Old Trafford.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag was widely praised for his debut season at Manchester United after he left Ajax and arrived at Old Trafford in 2022.

Ten Hag ended United’s six-year trophy drought last season by leading the Premier League club to the Carabao Cup after a 2-0 win against Newcastle at Wembley.

The former Ajax manager came within touching distance of another piece of major silverware, only for the Red Devils to lose in the FA Cup final to Manchester City.

Despite his shortcomings in the FA Cup, United finished third in the Premier League table in the 2022-23 season and secured their return to the Champions League.

However, Ten Hag’s second season at United has been filled with both high and low points, with the 54-year-old Dutchman’s long-term future shrouded in mystery.

Giggs on Man Utd boss Ten Hag

Manchester United underwhelmed in the Champions League this season and crashed out of the competition in humiliating fashion after finishing bottom of Group A.

The Red Devils’ Carabao Cup title defence fell well short of expectations, too, with United dumped out of the competition in the round of 16 at the hands of Newcastle.

Despite the arrival of several new signings last summer, Ten Hag has watched United underperform this season and fall out of the Premier League top-four race.

Ten Hag could still end the season on a high note at Old Trafford, with United progressing to the FA Cup semi-finals.

The Red Devils face Coventry City on Sunday at Wembley for a place in the FA Cup final in May against either Manchester City or Chelsea.

However, Ten Hag’s future remains unclear beyond the current campaign after the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Old Trafford and speculation of Ineos replacing him.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed a minority stake purchase of United in 2023 and Ineos are now at the helm of football operations at the Premier League club.

Ryan Giggs recently appeared at the Radlett Centre for an event on stage and the United legend shared his thoughts on the Red Devils.

According to The Athletic, the 50-year-old Welshman revealed that he watched United’s stunning FA Cup quarter-final win over Liverpool at his mother’s house.

The publication added that Giggs, who revealed his mother “hates Scousers more than anyone,” ‘believes’ that Ten Hag should remain in charge at Old Trafford.

Man Utd legend Giggs sends message to Ineos

Giggs has previously made his feelings clear on Ratcliffe and Ineos after the 71-year-old British billionaire became a co-owner of United.

The former Wales manager spent the majority of his legendary United playing career under Sir Alex Ferguson and saw incredible success at Old Trafford.

Giggs, who has been out of management since he stepped down as Wales boss, lifted a record 13 Premier League titles under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

During his appearance at the Radlett Centre, the former United star made his feelings clear on the Red Devils’ poor recruitment in the post-Ferguson era.

The Athletic reports that Giggs, who has taken up a new role at Salford City, believes United have suffered from “c**p” recruitment.

It is believed that the former Wales international is hopeful that Ratcliffe’s Ineos can change things at Old Trafford and put the club back on track.
