Bayern Munich star now reveals whether he will be fit to face Arsenal on Wednesday night

Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane has now revealed if he will be fit enough to face Arsenal on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.

The former Manchester City winger missed this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against FC Koln after picking up a groin issue in the week against Arsenal, with Sane causing the north London side a number of problems in north London.

With Serge Gnabry already ruled out for the match, Bayern losing Sane as well would be a massive loss for the German giants, with Arsenal fully aware that all they need to do is win the game to progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

Yet the 28-year-old winger has now issued an update on if he thinks he will play against Arsenal.

Leroy Sane confident he’ll be fit enough for Bayern Munich to face Arsenal

Speaking to Bild, Sane was confident that’ll be fit enough to feature against Arsenal this Wednesday for Bayern, with the winger saying when asked how he views his odds on playing: “I hope so. It should work!”

Given how many problems Sane gave Arsenal last week, the Germany international being fit enough to play against Mikel Arteta’s side will be viewed as a major blow for the north London side, who will be desperate to win in Bavaria.

Having lost on Sunday against Aston Villa, a comeback is needed from Arsenal if they’re to get their season back on track and to send another statement across the continent that they can take on Europe’s biggest and best.

However, Sane featuring could be an issue for Arsenal, and the former City star will be up for Wednesday night having missed Saturday’s 2-0 win against Koln in the Bundesliga.

Arsenal need to keep Germany international contained

Sane showed last week why he is still one of the best wide-attackers on the planet, with the Bayern star causing the Arsenal defence plenty of issues in what was an exciting game at the Emirates Stadium.

And later this week, Arteta will need a plan in place if he is to keep Sane contained, with Arsenal’s defenders tasked with what might be their biggest mission yet of the season in attempting to keep a clean sheet.

Indeed, Arsenal need to be watertight against Bayern on Wednesday, and keeping Sane quiet will be massive for the Gunners in their quest to progress to the final four of the Champions League.
