Love After Lockup’s Chance Pitt has been charged with two felonies for alleging fleeing a crash his truck was involved in last December, as well as a car theft that happened soon after.
WeTV‘s Love After Lockup star allegedly stole a woman’s car from a hospital parking lot soon after his truck crashed on December 18, Starcasm reports. He has since been charged, as per court documents.
Chance Pitt charged for ‘fleeing truck crash’
Chance was charged with: tampering with a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with damage over $1,000, fraudulent use of credit device and making a false affidavit to mislead a public servant.
He was allegedly driving when his pickup truck was hit by a semi tractor trailer on December 18. A probable cause affidavit states Chance ran a stop sign while pulling onto a four-lane highway.
The affidavit states: “I was advised the crash involved a tractor trailer hauling a gas tanker which had overturned in the median and was leaking fuel. On scene, I observed a maroon Chevrolet Silverado bearing Missouri registration ******, with heavy driver’s side damage off the west side of the roadway.”
Love After Lockup star ‘stole another car after the accident’
Less than an hour after the accident involving his pickup, Chance allegedly stole a Ford Escape from the parking lot of a nearby hospital. The car was low on fuel, so Chance pulled into a nearby FastLane.
Receipts show someone used a credit card belonging to the woman who owned the Ford Escape to purchase fuel, cigarettes and a drink, in addition to a later purchase at another convenience store.
Chance is accused of abandoning the vehicle on the side of the road at an intersection and it was later recovered by police. Thanks to surveillance camera footage from the convenience store, police identified Chance.
Where Chance and Tayler are today
Chance and Tayler first appeared on Love After Lockup in season 6. They met through Tayler’s ex in prison, when Chance served eight years for robbing a bank inside of a grocery store.
Tayler fell in love with Chance after she met him in person, having spoken on the phone a lot. After Chance was released, they moved in together but began having problems in their relationship.
After getting engaged on Love After Lockup, Tayler and Chance welcomed their first child together in November 2022, a baby boy. However, the two split up a year later after he admitted he was unfaithful.
Tayler has since moved on, while Chance appears to have a new woman in his life, who he shared a loved-up picture with on Instagram just over a month ago.
