£3.5m Celtic player to come in to training on his day off to improve his fitness

Celtic’s horrendous injury problems this season have been really difficult for Brendan Rodgers to deal with this season.

Having players like Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers out long-term has had a detrimental effect on Celtic’s form so far this season.

Short-term layoffs like Greg Taylor, Callum McGregor and Luis Palma have done nothing but compound the situation but recently, the injury issues have eased off as the Celtic manager welcomes back his best players for the title run-in.

One of those is Luis Palma. The Honduran was injured prior to the international break and the £3.5m summer signing returned to first-team action in the 3-0 win over St Mirren at the weekend.

Luis Palma’s Celtic fitness plan

The Honduran international has had a great start to the season and shone in the Champions League as well as the SPFL.

Nine goals and ten assists have made him a key player for Brendan Rodgers this season but a muscle injury forced him out of the side for three games. [Transfermarkt]

And now that he’s returned, Palma has shared how he is feeling after getting 21 Parkhead minutes on Saturday.

Palma said [Radio House], “I’m happy to have minutes again, I feel good, focused on recovering my level.”

The Celtic winger then went on to discuss how he plans to be ready for Celtic’s title run-in as he continued, “I discussed it with someone from the staff, I plan to go to the training centre on Monday to be at my best at the end of the tournament.”

There is no doubt that Palma is an important player for Celtic and could have a big helping hand in securing the title.

His goals and assists have already proven how much of an attacking threat he can bring to the side.

Now that Daizen Meada’s season looks all but over, Palma’s return will be welcomed by Rodgers and the Celtic fans and it could be a blessing in disguise at such a crucial stage of the season.
