West Ham United could be seriously affected by new PSR guidlines in the summer transfer window it seems.
New PSR, or ‘profit and sustainability rules’, are set to come into play at the end of this season, and West Ham may have to rein in the spending.
The new rules being proposed will allow clubs to spend up to 85 per cent of their revenue on transfers, wages and agent fees.
Hammers boss David Moyes has spent lavishly over the past few years. However, we did receive a whopping £105 million from Arsenal for Declan Rice nine months ago – a fee that will be paid in three instalments.
Premier League clubs have already felt the wrath of falling foul of the current rules, with Everton and Nottingham Forest both being handed point deductions.
Manchester City and Chelsea are currently under investigation, and both face massive fines as well as potential point deductions (The Sun).
So where do West Ham stand?

There has already been signs that Premier League clubs are being more careful with what they spend, with PSR crackdowns coming into full effect.
The Hammers may well have to tighten our belts when it comes to recruitment this summer, unless we sell some players.
That’s because a claim has been made about how the new PSR regulations will impact West Ham.
Claret and Hugh claim that the Hammers’ turnover last season was £237 million, meaning that we’d have £201 million to spend on transfers, wages and agent fees.
West Ham’s wage-bill allegedly stands at around £137 million, with £13 million being paid out to agents. That would leave £51 million to spend on new players.
If the new PSR guidelines are brought in, West Ham may well have to make a big sale or two in order to have a decent summer budget. Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City anyone?
