Three Counties Running Club Members have said they have had a “fantastic weekend” of running.
Phil Newton and Lou Mayer took part in the “iconic” London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM). This event is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster.
The event is not your average half marathon, you can take in cultural landmarks and heritage and learn about the city's quirky and hidden secrets, runners get to explore the capital on a route like no other.
Back in 2014, Tommy’s - a baby loss charity - set out to create an event with charity at the heart, and the LLHM has raised thousands to support both Tommy’s and over 500 other causes.
The LLHM has reached a landmark milestone, with a staggering £50,000,000 raised for the charity sector since the inaugural LLHM in 2018 and more donations pouring in.
Tommy's owns and organises the LLHM. The charity refuses to accept that one in four pregnancies has to end in a loss or premature birth.
They are dedicated to finding causes and treatments to save babies’ lives as well as providing trusted information and support.
The day started off an early start travelling for the runners, trying to get on packed trains and dodging excited football fans travelling to Wembley.
The sun was shining but it was fairly windy.
Both members were said to have had fantastic runs, with Phil smashing his PB and finishing in a time of 1:42:59 and Lou having a great run in 2:47:53.
King’s Lynn Parkrun also saw a great turnout and some “fantastic” PB’s.
Club members were out in force supporting Sarah-Jane Macdonald’s 50th birthday.
