‘One of my favourite’: Dele Alli says he absolutely loves watching £54m Man City star play

Dele Alli has named one Manchester City star as being one of his favourite players around at the moment.

The Englishman has featured in 194 Premier League games throughout his career, facing off against a significant number of opponents.

Now though, the 28-year-old has highlighted one top-flight star he particularly admires.

Speaking on Monday Night Football ahead of Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Everton, Alli had this to say about Kevin De Bruyne on the topic of City’s quality players and what makes them so difficult to play against.

He said: “De Bruyne is one of my favourite players to watch let alone play against him.”

City signed the midfielder back in the 2015 summer transfer window from Wolfsburg in a deal worth £54m.

Since then, the 32-year-old has gone on to make 373 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, scoring 100 goals and delivering 166 assists along the way as well as winning numerous domestic and European trophies.

12 of those games have been against Alli, eight of which De Bruyne came out as the victor, with one draw and three defeats.

Kevin De Bruyne has been one of City’s best signings

Back in February, Frank Lampard said that the Belgian is one of the best midfielders the Premier League has seen, which shows that Alli isn’t the only player to recognise how good the City star is and has been for such a significant period of time.

Taking all of that into account, it’s understandable why Alli thinks so highly of De Bruyne and why he recognises him as being a big part of City’s success.

In our view, it’s clear that the Belgian has been one of the club’s best signings since the takeover in 2008.

With another three trophies on the line this season, if the midfielder can score more goals and add to his impressive assist tally, he’ll give his side a great chance of potentially winning another Treble.
