'He will be': Andreas Pereira raves about 'amazing' current Manchester United player who isn't fazed by anything

Andreas Pereira has praised one Manchester United player for his calmness in midfield during a recent FIVE interview by Rio Ferdinand.

For Manchester United, this season has been dismal, with the only positives being how well some of the youth have integrated into the senior side.

Alejandro Garnacho is one who’s shone brightly, along with Kobbie Mainoo who’s had a magnificent debut campaign which would end with a call-up to the Euros.

Both have been absolutely terrific and arguably Erik ten Hag‘s best players, saving his job on multiple occasions.

Now, Rio Ferdinand has had former United midfielder and current Fulham star Andreas Pereira on the FIVE podcast.

Here the Brazilian has praised one United ace for his quality.

Andreas Pereira raves about Kobbie Mainoo

Speaking on Tuesday’s interview with FIVE on Youtube, Andreas was asked his opinions on Mainoo, to which he had a response which has great insight.

Having been in Mainoo’s boots once upon a time, Andreas is well-placed to comment. The player once coined ‘pre-season Pirlo’ had once been the most exciting Carrington prodigy himself.

He’d even come through the academy alongside the likes of Paul Pogba who he has named as his best-ever United teammate.

Here’s the review he gave, along with some warnings, on Mainoo.

“He looks like he’s very down to earth, you know, he’s very calm. He can have a very good game, he can have a normal game and he’s still the same guy.

“He doesn’t look like he gets fazed by anything, by the press or by the fans, he’s just calm and doing his job.

“I think if the press and the club just leave him, don’t put too much pressure on him and let him play, let him get better, he will be… he’s already amazing, but he will be even more.”

As good as Mainoo is he can be so much better for Manchester United

It’s a scary thought to consider just how young Mainoo is at 18 and to think his prime years of football are probably at least six years away.

To be so generational at his age to where he’s already the most important cog in the team for Manchester United is a fantastical achievement which happens once in a generation.

But on the other hand, it’s vital we don’t expect the world and place too much pressure on his shoulders as that’d be a recipe for disaster.

Andreas said it all correctly that if Mainoo is built around and given support, he could be even more amazing than he already is.
