Chelsea dominate vs Everton despite penalty scuffle

Both Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson made their case to take the spot kick, however the ball was rightfully put in the hands of Cole Palmer, who made no mistake yet again.

The penalty added to his first half hat-trick, recording the quickest trio scored in Chelsea history in the Premier League.

It moved his personal tally for the season in the Premier League to 20, taking him level with Erling Haaland at the top of the charts.

His performance didn’t go unnoticed amongst supporters, pundits and teammates alike, with the praise for him after the game rightfully endless.

A player from a rival side has also acknowledged his brilliance, with Rice commenting on his post-game Instagram post.

He said: “Unbelievable bro.”

There was a very realistic chance that the two could well have been teammates at Stamford Bridge this season, with the club making him a clear transfer target before his big move.

However, he instead chose the North side of London, and has been involved in a memorable title challenge with Arsenal and former Blue Kai Havertz.

Chelsea instead made a move to sign Moises Caicedo, with it eventually coming in at a club-record fee.

He showed in the game against Everton just how much ability he has, and how Chelsea fans may well not have seen the best of him on a consistent basis just yet, with the role next to Enzo Fernandez one he has a chance to nail down.
