When Axel Disasi is expected to return after missing Chelsea vs Everton through injury – journalist

Journalist Nathan Gissing has now shared when Chelsea can expect to welcome back defender Axel Disasi from his recent injury issue.

He took to Twitter to state when the Frenchman is aiming to return as the Blues approach the business end of the season in both the league and FA Cup.

Disasi has been pretty much an ever-present since joining the club. After not being present on Monday, he missed his first game of any capacity since November.

Ironically, the game he missed coincided with what was likely Chelsea’s best performance as a whole this season.

Chelsea dominate Everton 6-0

The Blues defeated Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge, delivering both a performance and result that they had been threatening to do pretty much all season.

The star of the show was clearly Cole Palmer again, with the England international finding the net four times to put him level at the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts.

The defence Mauricio Pochettino managed to name was certainly makeshift, however picked up the club’s first clean sheet in any competition since January.

For that reason, they may expect to be handed another start at the weekend when they return to FA Cup action against Manchester City at Wembley.

Axel Disasi set to be fit for FA Cup semi-final

However, Gissing has stated they will likely have Disasi to contend with for a place at the back on his road to recovery.

He said: “Axel Disasi will not be in tonight’s squad as Chelsea face Everton – but his issue isn’t thought to be anything major. He’s likely to be available for the next game.”

After the defender’s imperious performance at the back in their Premier League draw against the same opponents earlier this year, the Frenchman will certainly have belief that he can make a difference at the back on Saturday.
