Despite the childish fight over who should take a second half penalty, the England international made no mistake from the spot after a perfect hat-trick in the first half.

It was clear to see his teammates and pundits alike were in awe of his performance, and that included those who were not present on the pitch atStamford Bridge.

Wesley Fofana in awe of Cole Palmer

Despite the fact that he has not been able to play alongside Palmer yet, the Frenchman was quick to take to social media to praise him for his performance.

He posted an Instagram story simply stating: “Cold Palmer.”

The affectionate nickname has gone down well with Chelsea fans up and down the land, and those at Stamford Bridge were left in awe of his performance.

Mauricio Pochettino has had an easy job looking who to build his side around this season, and this gives him the best idea of what to do when picking a team to try and beat Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday.

He may well have stumbled across the best side he can pick for the job accidentally, with injured midfielder Enzo Fernandez having a tough task breaking back into the side after the superb displays from Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher in his place.
