Mark Guidi says Celtic have a player in the ranks who could be the catalyst for title glory

Celtic now know their post-split fixture fate as they look to end the campaign with Scottish Premiership title glory under Brendan Rodgers.

First up, the Bhoys head to face Dundee on Sunday, April 28th, at Dens Park, in a 3 pm kick-off that follows Rangers’ clash away to St Mirren earlier in the day.

Six days later, we arrive at Parkhead to take on Heart of Midlothian before Rangers come to town a week later on May 11th for a highly-anticipated Glasgow Derby encounter that could have major ramifications in our title bid.

On the penultimate day of this term, Celtic travel to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on May 15th, which is a Wednesday night kick-off.

To conclude, St Mirren travel to Parkhead on the final day of the season, where we take on the Buddies on Saturday, 18th May, at 12.30 pm, an occasion where Rodgers will hope his side can lift the league title; all going to plan.

Nevertheless, supporters know that nothing is near said and done yet, though they will be excited for the business end of proceedings to shape up.

Mark Guidi says Kyogo Furuhashi can win Celtic the league title

When you think of Celtic players capable of producing split-second moments of magic, Kyogo Furuhashi would rank at the top of your list, even if his form this term hasn’t been reminiscent of his 34-goal campaign in 2022/23.

Despite this, he has registered 16 goals and four assists in 43 appearances this time around, with three falling in his last five outings [Transfermarkt].

Speaking live on the Go Radio Football Show, journalist Mark Guidi reckons the Japan international could be the catalyst fire Celtic to Scottish Premiership title glory in their remaining league fixtures.

He stated: “Kyogo is a match-winner. Kyogo could be a title winner in the next five games for Celtic, and I think he knows, by his own standards, he’s not quite hit it.

“I think a reason for that is that there is no Jota or Abada, so he’s not had the same level of service, but I just get the feeling Celtic have got the bit between their teeth.”

Granted, Furuhashi has enjoyed more fruitful strands of his Celtic career; nevertheless, his decisive goals in two Glasgow Derby matches this campaign demonstrate his ability to pounce when it matters most.

Republic of Ireland international Adam Idah’s seven goals from 12 has also helped to ease the burden on his shoulders, and both will be expected to contribute heavily during the season run-in at Parkhead.
