Report: Arsenal are becoming more and more likely to make a move for £60m player after he had talks with Spurs

Arsenal and Tottenham will both be in the market for a new centre-forward this summer.

The Gunners need a clinical number nine to take them to the next level, while Tottenham still haven’t found a genuine Harry Kane replacement.

Of course, when two clubs of a similar stature are looking for a player in the same position there’s going to be some overlap in terms of who makes their shortlist.

Arsenal and Spurs have been linked to the same players so many times in the past, and, by the sounds of it, they’re also both looking at an interesting striking option this summer.

Arsenal becoming more likely to move for Tottenham target

Santiago Gimenez is a player who has been linked with a move to Tottenham for a long time now.

The Mexican is ripping it up in the Eredivisie for PSV, and Spurs have long been admirers, reportedly even holding talks with the striker.

However, Arsenal have now caught wind of Gimenez’s potential, and according to Rudy Galetti, the Eredivisie striker is moving up Arsenal’s shortlist heading into the summer.

Arsenal vs Tottenham in race for Santiago Gimeenz

It sounds as though Arsenal and Tottenham will be going head-to-head in the battle for the £60m man, and that will leave Gimenez in an interesting position.

The striker will have a big decision to make this summer if he’s presented with these two options, and both options are solid.

On one hand, Arsenal are further along in their development and are more likely to win major honours next season, but, at the same time,Ange Postecoglou is building something very exciting at the moment and his team would be a lot of fun to play in as a centre-forward.

If Gimenez wants to win trophies, perhaps he should join Arsenal, but if he wants to develop as a player and make a name for himself as a goalscorer in the Premier League, perhaps Tottenham would be the better choice.
