Report: Club now decide to sell Tottenham target for £21m, have already found replacement

Tottenham now look to have a great chance of signing one transfer target this summer after an interesting development.

Ange Postecoglou is seemingly on the hunt to inject some more creativity into his Spurs side, after James Maddison’s stunning early season form dried up and Giovani Lo Celso reportedly aims to leave.

Crystal Palace No.10 Ebere Eze is one name who Tottenham could sign to bolster the attacking midfield ranks, although another attacking midfielder now seems a lot more likely to end up in N17 this summer…

Tottenham receive good news in Sebastian Szymanski hunt

Well – according to Aksam in Turkey – Tottenham want to sign Sebastian Szymanski.

The Poland international has enjoyed a superb campaign with Fenerbahce so far this season, scoring 12 goals while also providing 16 assists in 48 appearances.

Now – according to a new story from Aksam – Tottenham’s chances of signing Szymanski have increased.

The Turkish news outlet believe Fenerbahce have now decided to sell the 24-year-old for a sum of €25m (£21m) this summer, with plans already in action to sign Cameron Puertas from Union Saint-Gilloise as his replacement.

Fenerbahce have even already held a meeting with the Belgian side about this deal, and are close to sealing a €15m (£13m) agreement – landing the Turkish giants €10m (£8m) in profit once all transactions are made.

Competition for James Maddison

As aforesaid, Maddison’s stunning start to life at Tottenham – which saw him score three goals and provide five assists in his first nine Premier League appearances – has evaporated.

For whatever reason, the England international is having much less of an impact on games right now – he only has one Premier League goal to his name since October 23rd.

Therefore, the expected signing of Szymanski will hopefully keep Maddison on his toes, and motivate the Spurs No.10 to keep delivering – as things stand, he arguably looks a bit too comfortable, with little competition for his starting role.

Fighting for places breeds a winning mentality, so hopefully, Tottenham can get this deal over the line once Fenerbahce wrap up an agreement to sign Puertas.
