Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and James Comer (R-KY) fought a battle of words in a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing Wednesday over the Republican's beleaguered efforts to impeach President Joe Biden and was almost immediately mocked.
Raskin repeatedly slammed Comer over his party's repeated accusations that Biden had accepted bribes, despite an investigation that has yet to turn up a smoking gun, demanding to know which crime Republicans believed Biden had committed and received a less than specific reply.
"You’re about to find out very soon," Comer promised.

This answer did not go over well on social media.
A snarky Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) adopted the satirical style of "Arrested Development" to slap back at Comer on social media.
"Narrator: They were not about to find out," Schiff said. "They would never find out."

Political commentator Luke Beasley parodied Comer's excuse with another one set in a lesser ranking institution: high school.
"James Comer: the crime goes to another school you wouldn't know her," joked Beasley.
JoJoFromJerz cracked: "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… never bring a James Comer to a Jamie Raskin fight."
X userPiyush Mittal argued Comer's efforts explained why two conservatives have since separated themselves from the party.
"I can see why Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger left," Mittal said. "It’s a freak show!"
"For the love of dignity," said Dorothee V. Plessis. "People of the 1st congressional district of Kentucky, vote James Comer out! All he does is making you look like the most ignorant people on earth! His only achievement is ridiculing you. He never does anything positive for you. Never."
"Can we get AI to generate a 24/7 channel where Rep Raskin completely eviscerates James Comer over and over like he does in real life?" asked Sean Herrala.
The Lincoln Project, a group of never Trump conservatives, posted an adjusted video that included the sound of a squeaky toy when Comer bangs the gavel.
