David de Gea sends gift to Manchester United wonderkid, he knows what he’s doing

It’s now been almost a year since David de Gea left Manchester United. Was it the correct decision?

It was a bold one – that’s for sure. Erik ten Hag made the huge decision to shun the club legend after 545 games for the Red Devils.

The Spaniard is still yet to find a club. Instead, he’s been enjoying living life to the fullest, taking a probably well-needed break after some of the atrocities he endured around Old Trafford over the years.

However, he does often keep in touch with some members of the Manchester United first-team squad.

David de Gea still involved with Manchester United

De Gea has remained close to a lot of the Manchester United squad, despite his departure from the club. In particular, he is still very good friends with club captain Bruno Fernandes, with the pair often meeting up as friends.

Similarly, they also hang around with Juan Mata, that is when he’s not in Japan – with the pair often exchanging messages on social media.

It’s no surprise really. De Gea was pretty much part of the furniture around Carrington, having been at the club for over a decade. He really got to know a lot of the players very well.

But there is a current Manchester United star who he only really played with for a season – Alejandro Garnacho. Despite this, it appears the two still have a good relationship off the pitch… or he may just want to promote his brand.

De Gea sent the Manchester United wonderkid a ‘Rebels Gaming’ t-shirt, which the dazzling Argentine posted on his Instagram story.

Garnacho is a keen gamer, so De Gea (with his business hat on) decided to grasp an opportunity for some great exposure with two hands. Fair play!

What is Rebels Gaming?

De Gea entered the world of eSports by launching Rebels Gaming in December 2021.

De Gea is quoted as saying that entering the eSports landscape is a ‘dream come true’ for him, believing that he can positively impact young people.

Joining David in his business venture were his former teammates, Fernandes and Mata are also joining shareholders in the company.

This has seemingly been taking up De Gea’s time whilst he’s taking a break from football – but good for him!
