The Premier League finishing statistic Cole Palmer now tops after brilliant performance for Chelsea vs Everton

It is some season Cole Palmer is having at Chelsea following his move from Manchester City last summer.

In 38 appearances for Chelsea, Cole Palmer has come up with an incredible 36 goal contributions.

Twenty three of those have been goals scored by the attacker himself, with 20 coming in the Premier League.

It means Palmer is now the joint-top scorer in the division alongside Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

The 21-year-old got to 20 on Monday after putting four past Everton in Chelsea’s 6-0 win against the Toffees, and a really impressive stat has emerged since then. Rangers legend Ally McCoist now thinks Palmer is more important to Chelsea than Haaland is to City.

Cole Palmer now leading Premier League finishing statistic

From the spot and in open play, Palmer has been absolutely clinical.

It was clear to see as he beat Jordan Pickford four times at Stamford Bridge a few days ago.

Following that game, according to WhoScored, Palmer is overperforming his xG by 5.06.

It sees the Englishman top the Premier League’s list of xG overperformers, with Son Heung-min, Chris Wood, Phil Foden and Jarrod Bowen making up the rest of the top five.

Palmer will now be looking for his 24th goal in all competitions when he takes on his former club City at Wembley on Saturday in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Who are England’s two best players right now?

This season, most people would put Jude Bellingham as No.1, and it is hard to argue against that.

The 20-year-old is doing extremely well at Real Madrid, helping them to knock Palmer’s old side out of the Champions League quarter-finals last night.

In the 35 games Bellingham has played for Real Madrid, the former Borussia Dortmund star has scored 20 goals.

After him, many will feel Phil Foden. However, the numbers that Palmer has put up in a struggling Chelsea side are ridiculous. As of today, he has got to be top two.
