Viral test reveals how many potential romantic partners are out there for you

A fun test has gone viral on TikTok that shows how many potential partners you actually have in the US, using real data.

It’s been nicknamed the ‘Standards Test’ and uses US Census Bureau Data to see how many people meet your preferences.

Viral ‘Standards Test’

The test was created by online matchmaking site Keeper, who strive to help people find love, get married and start families – not just date endlessly.

“Are your romantic expectations in line with reality? Discover your chances of meeting your desired partner with our free calculator,” it says.

You choose your preferences in a romantic partner, including selecting Male or Female, an age range, height and minimum income.

As well as that, you can select their ethnicity, hair color, eye color, education, religion and even whether they drink or smoke.

You can choose to exclude married people if you like, and select whether they want kids or not. Then, it’s time to see how many people are out there for you.

“Using data from the US Census Bureau and the US CDC, we’ll tell you if your expectations are reasonable and give you clarity in your quest for love,” it says.

How to take the test

To find out how many people in the US meet your standards, head to the Male/Female Standards Calculator here.

Then, fill out your preferences and tap the ‘Let’s Find Out’ button to reveal how many romantic partners are available for you.

I took the test and it told me that 0.174% of all men in the United States match my preferences, which sounds like a tiny percentage.

However, that’s actually 287,061 of 164,977,341 – so don’t be too disheartened! The right person for you is out there.

The tool claims to provide a percentage reasonably close to reality, but notes that it may not be 100% accurate.

Don’t lose hope

It’s just supposed to be a bit of fun and shouldn’t be taken too seriously, but the test does encourage people not to lose hope when trying to find a partner.

Sometimes it seems like there’s no one out there for you, but this proves you have thousands of potential matches – and that’s just people in the US!
