‘Unbelievable’: Scott Brown says Celtic ‘magician’ gave him his best moment at Parkhead

Earlier on we spoke about how Scott Brown addressed the question of him ever returning to manage Celtic.

Brown’s answer was very diplomatic but I think it’s fair to say that he would love to return to the club as the manager one day.

However, Broony was asked what his favourite memory of picking up trophies for Celtic. Was it the ninth Scottish Premiership trophy? Or the Scottish Cup that sealed the historic Quadruple Treble?

Tom Rogic delivers Scott Brown’s iconic Celtic moment

There were so many podiums Brown stood on and so many finals that the former Celtic captain appeared in and won.

But it was what Tom Rogic did in the 2017 Scottish Cup Final that will live long in the memory of the Celtic legend.

Brown said [Scottish Football Podcast], Tom does just what Tom does, doesn’t he? He’s just a magician with the ball. He’s managed to get on to his right foot and I was thinking scrap it, we’ll get a corner and we’ll be fine.

“Tom very rarely uses his right foot. That’s for standing on as his other one is an absolute wand.

“Great finish past Joe Lewis. At the time it was unbelievable.

“I remember jumping in with the fans but to have that opportunity to win the first treble, I had never done it before as a player and it was unbelievable scenes with the fans going about the streets.”

I remember that day like it was yesterday. The scenes of celebration as the realisation that Celtic had just become Invincible Treble legends was just something special.

We will probably never see the likes again of that kind of season such was the magnitude of what Brendan Rodgers and his team achieved.

But for now, we can look forward to this weekend’s Scottish Cup tie against Aberdeen and hope that one of the current crop of players can produce a moment of magic just like that to take us into the final in May.
