Trump backer Nancy Mace: 'We want to make sure if you're raping women you get deported'

Fox News/screen grab

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said that she supports deporting rapists even though she backs Donald Trump, an accused rapist who was found liable of sexual abuse, in the 2024 presidential election.

During a Thursday interview with Newsmax, Mace was asked about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) threat to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who has endorsed the South Carolina lawmaker.

"There was no border security measure related to any of the foreign aid that we were doing, and so to see that, for frustration [to] bubble up publicly is not helpful sometimes," Mace replied before pivoting away from Greene.

"We want to make sure that our border is secure," she said. "We're getting a vote on those measures and, again, I put a couple of amendments on that border bill in the last 24 hours, including a violence against women act by illegal aliens."

"You know, we want to make sure if you're raping women, you get deported right away."

Last month, Mace sparred with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos after he asked how she, as a rape survivor, could support Trump in light of a New York judge's conclusion that Trump raped writer E. Jean Carroll by the common definition of the word — even if a civil case jury found him liable for sexual abuse and not rape.

"I find it offensive and I also find it offensive that you are trying to shame me with this question," Mace told the host.

“You don’t find it offensive that Donald Trump has been found liable for rape?” Stephanopoulos pressed.

“I find it offensive that as a rape victim, you’re trying to shame me for my political choices," Mace complained.

Trump later sued ABC, ABC News, and Stephanopoulos over the interview.

The lawsuit said the host acted "with actual malice or with a reckless disregard for the truth."

At least 18 women have accused Trump of rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or groping.
