Report: What Oliver Glasner has now done to help Crystal Palace avoid injuries, Roy Hodgson didn't do it

The Oliver Glasner era is well and truly underway at Crystal Palace, with excitement at a fever pitch after recent results.

Crystal Palace made the right call to replace the club legend Roy Hodgson with Oliver Glasner in February.

Hodgson was set to depart this summer and for a time, it seemed like he’d be allowed to see out his contract.

Ultimately, things got to an unrecoverable position and the trigger was pulled on appointing Europa League-winning Glasner.

Now, just two months in, he’s making his mark and one change he’s made has now been shared in a report.

Here’s what he’s changed…

What has Oliver Glasner done differently to Roy Hodgson and Patrick Vieira?

In a report from London World, it’s been revealed some of the biggest changes to life under Glasner for Palace.

One part explained that with Glasner at the helm, those around the club believe new levels can be reached, levels which may have looked out of reach prior.

Now, looking further into this report, there is another very interesting section.

It explains the training regime change that Glasner has undertaken which sees him make a change from his predecessors.

“Oliver Glasner has Crystal Palace players at Copers Cope the day after a match rather than a day off, as was the case under Patrick Vieira and Roy Hodgson.

“This, according to sources, is to ensure optimum recovery, to debrief and to avoid injuries or setbacks.”

This of course is one of the biggest talking points around Palace’s campaign, with injuries playing a large part in Hodgson’s demise.

Glasner is starting to see the benefits of this approach at Crystal Palace

One of the biggest signs that this approach is paying off, is that Eberechi Eze has been fit since returning over a month ago.

Along with this, Michael Olise has now featured twice without picking up another setback.

There have been some stumbles, with Chris Richards and Sam Johnstone getting injured, although one of these came on international duty.

That being said, recent blows haven’t been due to Glasner’s handling, as many injuries under Hodgson were due to reaggravations occurring often as he rushed his key players back.

Some positive signs already emerging from this change by Glasner, let’s hope for many more.
