Chelsea will now receive a guaranteed £43m next summer, it could even double - journalist

Lukasz Baczek has now claimed that Chelsea are in line for a large sum of money guaranteed from next summer.

He took to Twitter to state that the Blues are about to be further rewarded for their strong performances in Europe across the last few years.

While there has been on European football at Stamford Bridge this season, Chelsea have certainly made their impact in the competition in recent years.

Thomas Tuchel brilliance in the Champions League

They were crowned winners of the Champions League back in 2021 under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel, who is now threatening to do something similar with Bayern Munich this season too.

He oversaw his side’s brilliant two-leg victory over Arsenal in the quarter-finals this week, sending both Kai Havertz and Jorginho out of the competition.

The result also saw Arsenal unable to qualify for next summer’s Club World Cup, due to take place at the end of next season.

Chelsea set for Club World Cup payday

Chelsea will however be one of the sides there, with Baczek stating that they are in line for a big payday for doing so.

He said: “Thirty-two teams will take place in the new FIFA Club World Cup, the first edition taking place in the US. RB Salzburg have qualified to the 2025 CWC after Arsenal’s elimination from the Champions League. Each club will receive €50m just for participating in the competition. Winner – €100m“

Chelsea will be amongst the elite in Europe for the first iteration of the competition in its new format.

The Blues famously added the trophy to their cabinet back in 2021, completing the collection of every honour available to win under Roman Abramovich’s tenure at the club.

With nothing to add to that longevity since Todd Boehly took over as owner, there is more than just the financial incentive for Chelsea when they take on the world’s best next summer.

They of course could break that duck before then though, starting with the FA Cup this season, where they will take part in the semi-finals tomorrow against Manchester City at Wembley.
