Report: After Joelinton contract, new reason emerges to suggest Bruno Guimaraes will stay at Newcastle United

While the winter was full of fear that Bruno Guimaraes could leave Newcastle United this summer, spring has brought optimism that he is going absolutely nowhere.

Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily linked with signing the 26-year-old, while it was also reported earlier this year that Real Madrid could make a move to sign the Brazilian.

And with Bruno Guimaraes boasting a £100million release clause in his contract, it leaves the Magpies in a vulnerable position. Combine that with Newcastle United’s apparent need to sell amid PSR concerns and a move away from St James’ Park felt inevitable.

But the mood has shifted in recent weeks, and there appears to be a lot less doom and gloom surrounding Bruno’s future on Tyneside.

Bruno Guimaraes becoming more and more likely to stay at Newcastle United

It has been claimed the club are growing in confidence that they can keep Bruno for another year, and developments behind the scenes certainly strengthen Newcastle United’s bid to keep him.

Joelinton signed a new contract earlier this month, which is great news for everyone involved in the club. That includes Bruno, who has become very close friends with Joelinton since they became teammates.

And it was recently reported that Joelinton’s decision to remain with Newcastle could also help convince Bruno to stay, which is excellent news.

And now a further development away from the pitch may give fans even more encouragement that their Brazilian superstar is here to stay.

£4m purchase suggests Bruno is staying at Newcastle

The Telegraph have provided an update on goings on in Bruno’s personal life, and it could have an impact on his Newcastle United career.

According to the Telegraph, the 26-year-old has recently bought a new house in the North East.

They state that Bruno has purchased a £4million home in Darras Hall, and is hoping to move in shortly with the rest of his family. Bruno is married to Ana Lidia Martins, and they have two children together.

Buying a house is quite the commitment, no matter what the cost is. But this is surely an indication of Bruno’s intentions for the future, as I certainly would not be splashing out £4million on a house if I knew I was going to be leaving the area within just a few months.

Newcastle have the chance to convince Bruno to stay even longer

Given his recent investment, it is clear that Bruno and his family are settled on Tyneside.

With the midfielder seemingly on course to remain with Newcastle United for at least one more year, the club now has the chance to convince him to stay even longer.

They need to match his ambitions and talent, which means being in the Champions League. He has proven that he belongs at that level, and Newcastle need to do all they can to get back there.

That has to be the goal next season, and a top four finish in 2024/25 could help convince Bruno to stay at St James’ Park for even longer.
