Big blow for Tottenham with West Ham reportedly in strong position to sign 23-yo jet-heeled star

West Ham United reportedly could be set to deal a big blow to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer window by signing a highly-rated striker.

The upcoming summer transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham, with the signing of a top striker an absolute necessity.

Whether David Moyes is still in charge at the London Stadium come the summer matters very little – the mission remains the same.

Finding a proper long-term replacement for Michail Antonio will be the biggest priority for the Hammers this summer.

West Ham need to evolve as a club and stop being so reliant on an injury-prone 34-year-old if we are to be a consistently successful club.

And it seems like our latest transfer target is a really exciting one…

West Ham in strong position to sign striker this summer

If the Hammers manage to sign a striker with real pace this summer, we will undoubtedly reach another level entirely.

And it seems like we could do exactly that whilst dealing Tottenham a very big blow in the process…

Algerian outlet Walfoot claim that West Ham are pushing hard to pip Spurs to the signature of Mohamed Amoura – the Hammers have apparently already made a £13 million bid for him, with his club holding out for closer to £17 million.

If West Ham manage to beat Tottenham to the Algerian ace’s signature, it would be a major boost for us and a big blow to Spurs at the same time.

Mohamed Amoura plays for Belgian side Union SG, and has bagged 22 goals and six assists in 40 games so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The 22-capped Algeria international possesses blistering pace, and is always willing to run the channels just like Antonio, but he is a far better finisher than the Jamaica international.

He can play as a left winger or even in the number 10 position as well if need be. The Union SG ace is exactly the kind of player we need.

And if West Ham find a way to beat Tottenham to the signing of the striker this summer, it will be a major coup for us.
