Mauricio Pochettino has shared what Cole Palmer has told him about his time at Manchester City.
After emerging through the youth ranks at City and making 41 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, the winger joined Chelsea during the previous summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £42.5m.
Having faced off against his old side twice in the Premier League this season, history is set to repeat itself once again this weekend at Wembley Stadium.
Now though, the Chelsea boss has revealed what Palmer has told him about his period with the Blues.
Pochettino shares what Palmer has said about Man City
Speaking in his latest press conference ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup semi-final clash between the two sides, Pochettino had this to say about what Palmer has said about his time at City and how he feels about Guardiola.
He said: “He always talks very highly of Manchester City and Pep [Guardiola]. He’s not this player who has something like this [proving a point against former side] inside. He’s very grateful [for City].”
Since joining Chelsea, the winger has clearly benefited from having regular game time as he’s scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
His latest appearance saw the Englishman score four goals in Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Everton in the Premier League, taking his total to 20 for the campaign, the same as Erling Haaland.

Having not only given Palmer his senior debut as well as having him be a part of a Treble-winning squad, we feel that he should be very grateful for the opportunities and guidance City gave him during his time there.
While it’s good to hear from Pochettino that the winger has been very complimentary about his former club, everyone at City will be hoping now that he doesn’t end up kicking them out of the FA Cup after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid in their previous game.
