'Worries me': Glenn Murray has now spotted something that concerns him about Nottingham Forest

Glenn Murray has now shared something that worries him about Nottingham Forest heading into the final five games of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in real danger of a swift return to the Championship, sitting 17th in the Premier League with only a single point keeping the Reds above Luton Town.

Nottingham Forest are also just a point below Everton – Sunday’s opponents – so that clash at Goodison Park could potentially be season defining for the Reds.

However – aside from that significant game against the Toffees – Glenn Murray has spotted something that worries him about Nottingham Forest

Why Glenn Murray is worried about Nottingham Forest

Well, the man from Maryport has actually expressed concern about Nottingham Forest’s remaining fixtures against Sheffield United and Burnley, rather than the daunting clashes against Manchester City and Chelsea.

Nuno welcomes Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino to the City Ground before the season ends, either side of trips to Bramall Lane and Turf Moor, with Murray particularly concerned about the fixtures which seem easier on paper.

When speaking on The Friday Night Social on BBC Radio 5 Live, the 40-year-old said: “When I see Forest, do you know what worries me? It’s Sheffield United and Burnley away with the pressure off. They will probably be down by that stage and they will be free. What the footballers want to do, they want to drag somebody down with them. 100%.”

Remaining fixtures

  • Everton vs Nottingham Forest
  • Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City
  • Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest
  • Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea
  • Burnley vs Nottingham Forest

Coincidentally, we actually made this exact point in an article on Friday – those two fixtures are potential banana skins in every sense of the phrase.

How Nottingham Forest fared against Sheffield United and Burnley earlier this season

Unfortunately, Nottingham Forest can’t really take much confidence from the other meetings against Sheffield United and Burnley earlier this season.

The Reds needed an 89th minute winner from Chris Wood to defeat the Blades at the City Ground back in August.

Nottingham Forest were then held to a 1-1 draw against Burnley at the City Ground back in September.

Of course, The Garibaldi are a different side nowadays with Nuno at the helm instead of Steve Cooper, although there is not much that is positive to take from the earlier meetings against Sheffield United and Burnley.
