Troy Deeney shares who he thinks will win out of Man City vs Chelsea this afternoon

Troy Deeney has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s FA Cup semi-final showdown against Chelsea.

After getting knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid on penalties in midweek, the Blues have another big game ahead of them this afternoon against Mauricio Pochettino’s side at Wembley Stadium.

Prior to today’s semi-final, one pundit and former top-flight player has shared his thoughts on how this particular game could go down.

Speaking in a recent video shared on his official TikTok channel where he previewed and predicted the results for this weekend’s Premier League and FA Cup games, Deeney had this to say about City’s match against Chelsea.

He said: “Great game, to be fair. I think Chelsea raise their standards to whoever they’re playing.

“They need a run to show they’re moving in the right direction but they are quite young so you’re starting to see so many inexperienced guys play so the consistency is not there so one game they look great and one game they look poor.

“Against City I think they’ll put in a valiant effort but I think they’ll lose 3-1. I’ll go City 3-1.”

Will Man City beat Chelsea today?

City have faced off against Chelsea on two occasions this season in the Premier League, drawing 4-4 at Stamford Bridge and 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

In their previous game, the west London club beat Everton 6-0 in the Premier League on Monday night, with Cole Palmer scoring four goals.

This suggests that they will be heading into today’s game full of confidence and the presumed belief that they can take advantage of City’s midweek battle against Real and pile more misery on the Blues.

Also, the fact that Chelsea made it to the Carabao Cup final earlier in the season, only to be beaten by Liverpool, makes us feel that they will be desperate to make it to another final and lift the FA Cup this time around.

Therefore, despite Deeney’s prediction, we feel that this could be another tight contest between the two sides and one that City will need to be at their best to win.
