Tottenham now preparing £17m summer swoop for 24-year-old they want to replace Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham Hotspur have already found the player who they want to bring in this summer to replace Giovani Lo Celso.

An exciting summer awaits the Lilywhites with Ange Postecoglou getting just his second summer transfer window at the helm.

Daniel Levy has sanctioned a number of deals since the Australian’s appointment last summer which have seen some vast improvements made at Spurs.

Tottenham fans are now expecting to see some form of European football on display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

A much needed upgrade in the football on display in north London has led to Spurs fighting away with Aston Villa for Champions League qualification.

But even if they do find themselves playing in the Europa League, it will mark an improvement on what Spurs fans saw last time out.

And it is expected to be a busy summer in north London with arrivals and departures set to unfold over the coming months.

Tottenham have already eyed up their Giovani Lo Celso replacement

This summer is likely to see a number of players move on from Tottenham as Postecoglou continues his clearout at Hotspur Way.

Eric Dier is one example of the clear out of the players Postecoglou has inherited after being appointed and Tanguy Ndombele could follow.

The Frenchman is currently out on loan with Galatasaray and his future is expected to be elsewhere upon his return in the summer.

And Giovani Lo Celso is another player who could be on the exit pile this summer after a difficult spell in north London.

The Argentine has barely featured this season despite James Maddison‘s recent spell of poor form in the starting XI.

Now, Turkish outlet Fanatik are reporting Spurs’ interest in the Fenerbahce midfielder Sebastian Szymanski this summer.

It is claimed Spurs have been monitoring Szymanski since last season and have been impressed with his displays for the Turkish outlet.

The Lilywhites are expected to make an offer in the region of €20m (£17m) for the Polish midfielder over the coming months.

What Ange Postecoglou has told Lo Celso ahead of the summer

It really has been a disappointing campaign for Lo Celso who has struggled to earn himself a spot in the starting XI this season.

Real Betis are already said to be showing an interest in resigning Lo Celso this summer after originally selling him to Spurs in the first place.

And Postecoglou has made it no secret that the Argentine is free to leave over the coming months if he wants to seek more regular game time.

“No one will play every game. It doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen at all the big clubs, so I am never really worried about the game-time players are playing. If they want more game-time, there are other clubs where they can do that and I’m looking at contribution,” he said in a recent press conference.

“With someone like Gio, like I said he has contributed to us this year and that’s been the most important thing for me.”
