Paul Merson labels one side "outstanding" while predicting Crystal Palace vs West Ham

Paul Merson has shared his predictions over who he sees winning between Crystal Palace against West Ham.

Crystal Palace will be heading into this weekend with optimal confidence after last weekend’s heroics at Anfield.

For Oliver Glasner, it’ll be a massive three points which on paper should be enough to save him from a relegation scrap.

This weekend it’s another side who is coming off a European defeat in West Ham, but for Palace, it’ll be another chance to establish that this is a new era.

Ahead of the game, the predictions are flying in over the result, with Chris Sutton going for a Palace win in his prediction.

Now it’s Paul Merson’s turn, here’s what he said.

Paul Merson predicts Crystal Palace vs West Ham

Writing in his weekly SportsKeeda predictions, Merson has made his prediction for Palace’s game against West Ham.

After Palace’s performance against Liverpool last week, Merson has some confidence in the Eagles, here’s what he has predicted.

“Crystal Palace were outstanding against Liverpool and got a statement result with their 1-0 win at Anfield last weekend.

“The Reds missed chance after chance after chance, but Palace’s front three caused them a handful of problems, particularly in the first half.

“West Ham’s focus will be on the second leg of their UEFA Europa League clash against Bayer Leverkusen.

“David Moyes’ side are a bag of revels and will likely be knackered after their European engagements, so I’m going for a Palace win.”

Finally, he named his prediction, writing Palace 0-2 West Ham, but given he stated he was going for a Palace win, we assume the scoreline is the wrong way round and he’s predicted a 2-0 Palace win.

How could Glasner line-up to face West Ham

For Glasner, this week has brought with it some additional injury blows.

But here’s how we’d line up.

But Dean Henderson will absolutely start given his impressive recent form which saw him become the second player to keep a clean sheet at Anfield in the league this season.

In defence injury woes could lead to a trio of Nathaniel Clyne, Joachim Andersen and then the returning Rob Holding in for the injured Jefferson Lerma.

Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell will both start in their usual wingback positions. While it’ll be Adam Wharton alongside David Ozoh in midfield after an injury to Will Hughes.

Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise will both start in the number 10 positions while Jean-Philippe Mateta will start up front.
