"Top of the list": Crystal Palace can repeat Olise coup this summer by signing 11-goal ace, he won't be cheap - Journalist

Crystal Palace have one player at the very top of their transfer shortlist for this summer, according to Graeme Bailey.

Oliver Glasner and Dougie Freedman will already have their eyes firmly locked on transfer targets ahead of the upcoming window.

For Crystal Palace, the planning is believed to have begun while the side went for that week-long training camp in Marbella.

Glasner, being such a successful manager, will be keen to see some real improvements in the squad, so he can implement his style completely.

This planning will of course have to take into account the possible departures of the likes of Michael Olise.

Now, Graeme Bailey has shared who Palace’s top option to replace him might be.

Crystal Palace have Jaden Philogene at the top of their list

We spoke with HITC’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey about Palace’s summer plans.

While doing so, one name has crept up once again as being at the top of the Eagles list.

“They like him (Jaden Philogene), they do. But a lot of Premier League clubs do, amazing talent, he’s up there.

“He’s very reminiscent of Olise when he was in the EFL and Palace are as good as anyone at spotting these players in the EFL.

“So it wouldn’t surprise me, I don’t think Hull will go up, Philogene will for sure be towards the top of the list. Won’t be cheap though.”

Jaden Philogene has long been tipped as a potential option this summer in the event that Olise departs, but as we know, he won’t be cheap.

The Hull City owner has previously said he’d only consider bids worth £30m or above.

But while Philogene remains an option, there is one rumoured target that now looks unlikely.

Matias Soule looks increasingly unlikely to make Selhurst Park move

Matias Soule has long been linked with Palace and a reported bid was even rejected in January.

But as he’s enjoyed an impressive season for Frosinone, a move to Palace following his return to Juventus seems unlikely according to Graeme.

“I’d be surprised if Juve don’t give Soule a chance, but then again with Thiago Motta going in there, we might see a very different Juventus anyway with his progressive tactics.

“I think he’s more likely to give Soule a chance, to be honest.”

This would make sense, considering he’s outperformed the wingers at Juventus this season and he’d be a great fit under Motta.

This is disappointing though, considering he’d be perfect for Glasner.
