Report: Man City preparing £25m summer transfer bid for 18-year-old ‘jewel’

Manchester City are reportedly preparing a transfer bid for a young talent ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The previous summer transfer window showed that the Citizens aren’t shy when it comes to signing young players from foreign clubs.

For example, with both players at the age of 21, City signed Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol for significant transfer fees.

With the next summer transfer window on the horizon, details have emerged regarding one figure the Treble winners have apparently set their sights on.

According to a recent report from Aksam, City are readying a €30m (£25m) bid to sign Semih Kilicsoy from Besiktas this summer on a five-year deal.

The report adds that the 18-year-old striker has also garnered interest from fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur as well as Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Having scored 42 goals in 72 appearances for Besiktas’ youth sides, Kilicsoy made his senior debut for the club back in February 2023.

Since then, the centre-forward, who has been described as a “jewel” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig on Twitter, has scored 11 goals in 33 appearances for the Turkish side.

Semih Kilicsoy has been on fire this season

In 19 appearances in the Turkish League this season, the teenager has scored 10 goals, making him Besiktas’ top goalscorer.

In fact, the youngster has racked up more shots on target (21) in the league than any other player at the club.

His overall performances this season have earned Kilicsoy a season rating of 7.03/10 from WhoScored, making him the second-highest-rated player at Besiktas out of players who have made more than 10 league appearances.

Taking all of that into account, it’s easy to see why the youngster has had so many clubs looking at him ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
