Tottenham have been dealt a big blow ahead of the final weeks of the Premier League season. Destiny Udogie has been a huge part of Ange Postecoglou‘s side this season.
Unfortunately, his involvement in Spurs’ campaign is over. Udogie has undergone surgery and is facing a spell on the sidelines.
Udogie has rightly received a lot of plaudits for his form this season. The 21-year-old went into this campaign still awaiting the chance to make his Tottenham debut.

But he has since established himself as a crucial cog in how Postecoglou wants his team to play, with Udogie frequently flying forward into those attacking positions.
His form has seen the youngster force his way into the Italy squad. However, his hopes of featuring at Euro 2024 this summer have now been dashed.

A setback ahead of next season
It is such a shame to see Udogie’s season end in this manner. Udogie has been a revelation in the Premier League for a Tottenham side who have been incredibly exciting for much of the campaign.
Spurs are still fighting to qualify for the Champions League next year. So it is a real setback to lose him for the rest of the season.
But it is potentially an even bigger blow to not have Udogie for much of pre-season either. What Postecoglou achieved in those first few months at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium does not get enough credit.
And there will be a lot of excitement for what he could do this coming summer. Certainly, Tottenham fans will be hoping to see signs of progress.
Udogie will surely play a big part in the side next season. But obviously, not having him around over the summer is a real setback.
