Thiago Silva has now shared how he really feels about this Chelsea team after FA Cup defeat to Man City

Thiago Silva and Chelsea lost their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City yesterday.

Chelsea actually played really well on the afternoon but were still beaten 1-0 after wasting a lot of opportunities.

Bernardo Silva made Mauricio Pochettino‘s side pay for that after he popped up in the 84th minute to score the game’s only goal and send City into the FA Cup final.

That was likely Silva‘s last appearance at Wembley, with the central defender’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Pochettino recently admitted that Chelsea have not even discussed Silva’s future yet.

Thiago Silva on Chelsea team-mates

It was certainly a spirited performance from Chelsea. Had they been more clinical on the day, they probably would have won the game.

Silva took to X to apologise to Chelsea fans after the match, but the Brazilian also stated that he was very “proud” of this group of players.

Silva and the rest of Pochettino’s side will be looking to bounce back when they take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Tuesday.

It was 2-2 the last time these two teams met.

When did Thiago Silva join Chelsea?

Chelsea signed Silva from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer back in 2020, meaning that he would have had a four-year spell at the club if he leaves this summer.

During his four years in west London, there have been a lot of ups and downs. The centre-back managed to win the Champions League in 2021 but finished 12th in the Premier League last season.

Given that Silva did win European football’s biggest prize, though, he can certainly be happy with how his Chelsea career has gone.

The former PSG captain would probably like to stay at Stamford Bridge and make even more appearances for the club. Crying after an FA Cup semi-final, Chelsea quite clearly mean a lot to him, but an exit this summer is starting to look inevitable.
