Gabriel Magalhaes and Edu Gaspar left blown away by £27m Arsenal player in Wolves win yesterday

Both Gabriel Magalhaes and Edu Gaspar were amazed by one Arsenal performance in the win against Wolverhamtpon Wanderers yesterday.

Mikel Arteta’s side knew there was a ton riding on the game, an opportunity to create some ‘scoreboard pressure’ for Manchester City.

And as you may expect after two gruelling defeats both physically and mentally, Arsenal weren’t quite at their free-flowing best.

Passes were often going array early in the first half, and Jakub Kiwior’s questionable defending perhaps typified the opening stages.

Arsenal had David Raya to thank in net, but did then go on to deservedly win, showing a crisper touch in the second half.

As always, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard were at the heart of a lot of Arsenal’s intricate play, dovetailing brilliantly on the right.

But in that respect, credit also needs to be handed to Leandro Trossard, who scored a goal to settle the nerves, and give Arsenal that much-needed element of control.

Fortunate or not, Trossard’s ninth goal of the league campaign was a crucial one and relieved so much pressure around him.

Leandro Trossard kept Arsenal’s faltering title hopes alive against Wolves yesterday

Although celebrations were a tad more muted on this occasion following a disappointing last seven days or so, Trossard did take to Instagram after the match to send a message to fans.

The £27m-winger simply uploaded two photos with a caption saying: “A much needed one!” in reference to the win.

Of course, having won the game for Arsenal against Wolves yesterday, both teammates and fans were quick to reply to Trossard.

Gabriel Magalhaes was the first, saying “Come on my brother” in French.

And Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar did also then leave his congratulations with a selection of emojis.

We didn’t quite see Mikel Arteta’s silky Arsenal at their best yesterday, but it was satisfying for fans to see their side win ‘ugly’.

Arsenal’s defensive prowess also paid dividends once again, another flawless performance by the aforementioned Gabriel.

Perhaps it will bode well for the Gunners that they do only have a short break before they face Chelsea on Tuesday – another huge chance to build the ‘scoreboard pressure’ on Man City.

All that being said, Jamie Redknapp was amazed by one Arsenal players’ passing against Wolves yesterday.
