"We would score many"... Rasmus Hojlund names 'bulldog' like Man Utd legend as dream Red Devils strike partner

Rasmus Hojlund has been a fine acquisition for Manchester United.

The Danish striker arrived with big expectations, which initially, he didn’t exactly deliver on. Atalanta’s £64m man struggled in front of goal, particularly in the Premier League.

That was put to an end after a ridiculous record-breaking goalscoring run in the league. The Danish international simply couldn’t stop scoring, which Manchester United were extremely grateful for.

He’ll continue going from strength to strength and hopefully be at the club for years to come. It helps he’s a die-hard United fan himself.

Rasmus Hojlund on dream Manchester United strike partner

Hojlund has supported the Red Devils since he was a young boy, meaning he’s following in the footsteps of some of his United heroes.

In a Sky Sports Q and A, he told fans that he’d have loved to have played with one of these heroes, Wayne Rooney. He was asked for his dream former Manchester United strike partner and responded:

“I think I would take Wayne to be fair, He’s also like a bulldog. He likes to bark. He would do a massive job for me.

“He’s also selfish, but he wants to play, but he wants to make you better as well and to score goals. I think we would have a nice partnership together with his size as well. He could drop deep and I can make the deeper runs maybe and so on.”

How many goals would Wayne Rooney and Rasmus Hojlund score?

He was then asked how many goals they reckon they’d bag together, to which Rasmus replied:

“I don’t know,” he begins whilst laughing. “You never know, I have not played with him. But I hope we would score many.”

It would have been some partnership. Rooney’s link-up play with Rasmus would have been frightening. The Manchester United legend could bring the best out of players, and he’d have done just that with Rasmus.
