It is believed the fire was caused accidentally after a bonfire spread on a building site.

Firefighters tackled the flames on the building in Pembury Street, Sittingbourne just after 9.50pm.

Two fire engines were sent to the building and hose reel jets were used to extinguish the flames which were out by 11.20pm.

In the early hours this morning, a small fire also broke out at a warehouse on the Medway city estate in Rochester.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene of the fire which was caused accidentally by a battery in waste material.

Nobody was injured in any of the incidents.
