Collingham firefighters raise money for the FIrefighters Charity by running in Lincoln 10k

Firefighters from across the district successfully ran in full kit during the Lincoln 10k race last weekend, (Sunday, April 14).

The firefighters from Collingham Fire Station ran the event to raise money for The Firefighters Charity, an organisation that supports past and present fire and rescue service personnel.

Donations can still be made here.

“We would like to give a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored us over the last few weeks,” said a spokesman from the station.

“We are all absolutely astounded that we’ve managed to more than double the amount we hoped to raise.

“Thank you also to the support from colleagues, family and friends who turned up to cheer us along.

“A nice surprise was seeing our own Station Manger Goodspeed shouting encouragement from the side lines.”
