'He's a good player': Brendan Rodgers admits he rates 'really talented' striker after he's linked with Celtic move

As well as preparing for the final six games of the season, Brendan Rodgers knows that he also needs to look at strengthening Celtic in the summer.

The Celtic manager now has a Scottish Cup Final to look forward to after booking his place in the win over Aberdeen at Hampden on Saturday.

However, as we all know, the win it wasn’t as straightforward as the Celtic manager would have liked and it took extra time and penalties to finally see off Peter Leven’s side.

And speaking post match, Rodgers was running the rule over the win and whilst he admitted he was delightred to be in the final, he reserved some special praise for Celtic-linked, Bojan Miovski.

Rodgers really likes Miovski

Described as a ‘really talented‘ player, Miovski has been on fire for Aberdeen despite their struggles in the Scottish Premiership.

And after being linked to him earlier in the season, Rodgers praised the forward for the problems he cause Celtic on Saturday.

And discussing with Charlie Mulgrew on how he told his players to deal with the Aberdeen striker, Rodgers said his team gave him too much space in the first 45 minutes of the game.

Rodgers said [BBC], “I think we weren’t tight enough in our positioning and as I said, they were quite bright in midfield and combined really well to get through..

“He’s a good player, their striker. So yeah, there was just too much space.

“We were away on the attack before we’ve even secured the ball and they scored a very good goal so you have to give them credit for that.”

The debate amongst the Celtic fans on whether or not Miovski is good enough for Celtic will rumble on but the fact is that the Aberdeen striker certainly has an eye for goal.

With 24 for the season so far, Miovski has scored three times against Celtic despite being on the losing side six times out of seven. [Transfermarkt]

And considering Celtic create numerous chances in every game they play, just imagine the damage he could possibly do in the green and white hoops if given the opportunity.
