Fenland drivers in the thick of the action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena

James Licquorice made a rare appearance in the 1600cc bangers on Sunday and went home with another fistful of entertainer league points as he extended his lead at the top of the chart.

James was once again on it from the off entertaining the crowd and he picked up an entertainer award in his first race after weighing in with a good shot on Lewis Wietrzyk before going on to pick up further points later in the day.

Joshua Gilbert was involved in a big incident on the first lap of the first heat when he ended up rolling his car over with Nottingham’s Wilf Beedham also finding himself on his roof in the same crash.

Lennie Mukin was in the middle of the action throughout with a fifth and second-place finish in his heats.

After being taken out of the running he sought revenge against some of the team members who were running in the top three spots to earn himself an entertainer award.

Joel Allen was also heavily involved in the action as he squared up Peterborough’s Phil Jackson to exchange a big head in.

Tommy Parrin had a decent day in the 2L stock cars with a fourth and third-place finish in his heats.

Parrin had good pace throughout the meeting, but a sick engine saw retirement in the final.

Dean Moat continued his good form in the 1300 stock cars being our best finisher in the final with a fourth place.

Moat qualified for the final with a sixth-place finish in his heat with Sonny Parsons also making it to the feature with a runner-up spot in his heat and also came home in seventh in the All Comers.

Ronnie Palmer had a baptism of fire on his debut in his smart-looking Starlet.

He put in some great laps in the only rear wheel drive car out there but unfortunately ended up hitting the fence hard square on.

Lincoln Douglas bounced back to top form in the junior bangers with a fine runner-up finish in the final to Peterborough’s Gareth Flatters.

Lincoln also had a third and an eighth-place finish in his heats as he looks to bounce straight back to the red grade.

He was followed home by Levi Murkin with Riley Crowson coming home in fourth and Archie Horwood in ninth.

Murkin also had a runner-up finish in one of his heats as did Horwood.

There is no racing at King’s Lynn this weekend with the action returning on Monday, May 6 (1pm).
