'Always a high level': Gabriel says £50m Arsenal teammate has become so consistent since his arrival

Gabriel Magalhaes has suggested that he loves playing alongside one Arsenal teammate, insisting that he has become so consistent during his time with the Gunners.

Arsenal are well on their way to becoming the kind of machine which is able to regularly challenge for titles at home and on the continent.

Mikel Arteta‘s men remain in the Premier League title picture with a handful of games remaining. And there is a sense that they should have got themselves into the semi-final of the Champions League.

Of course, the defence has been a key part of their success. Arsenal have now kept six away clean sheets in a row in the Premier League.

Gabriel Magalhaes lauds consistency of Ben White

Understandably, Gabriel and William Saliba have received a lot of praise. But others have played their part, including Ben White.

White has been a revelation since his £50 million move, particularly since being moved to right-back. He has not only proved to be a competent full-back, but he has also developed into a player who can cause problems at the other end of the pitch.

And speaking to TNT Sports, Gabriel Magalhaes suggested that White has improved so much during his time at the Emirates.

“Since Ben arrived at Arsenal, I think he’s been a very good player. He’s a very consistent player, he’s a player that plays every match,” he said.

“I think his consistency has grown, he’s not a player that plays a match at one level, and then another match at a different level. He’s always a high level, and I am happy to play with him.”

Mikel Arteta must have been surprised by Arsenal star’s development

Few could have seen the player White would become. Arteta seemingly signed the England international to be Gabriel’s partner at the heart of the defence.

There was a question mark over what Saliba’s emergence would mean for White. But the trio have been superb together.

And given that Gabriel and White are the experienced campaigners of the backline at 26, there is still time for the Arsenal backline to improve further.

Given how dominant they have been, particularly in the second-half of this season, that should be a frightening thought for many of their rivals.
