Leicester City fans all agree on Abdul Fatawu’s performance vs Southampton

Leicester City secured a thumping 5-0 victory against Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday evening.

From the first whistle, Enzo Maresca‘s side put the visitors under the cosh and hardly conceded any chances.

It was perhaps Leicester‘s best performance of the season and one that moved them within touching distance of the Premier League.

One win is all they need to seal a top-two finish, though, it could be secured before they next kick a ball if second-placed Leeds United suffer a defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Friday.

Abdul Fatawu was the headliner for The Foxes, netting a sublime hat-trick and fans are all saying the same thing about his display.

Fatawu was virtually unplayable against the South Coasters and his second goal was one of the best strikes of the season.

Supporters took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to heap praise on the jet-heeled wide player.

One fan wrote: “My word. Abdul Fatawu. You know what to do, Leicester.”

A second added: “Khun Top’s reaction to that Abdul Fatawu goal will make every Leicester City fan smile. He loved it.”

Another posted: “It’s not just the excitement and goals that Abdul Fatawu brings. It’s his joy! It’s infectious!”

One even came up with a poem: “He loves this game. His left foot is insane. If Leicester don’t sign him it will be shame. Three goals and an assist – Abdul Fatawu – remember his name.”

“Fatawu absolutely has to be top of the shopping list next season for #LCFC. Serious player,” a fifth stated.

Abdul Fatawu looks set to join Leicester City on a permanent deal

Fatawu has enjoyed a phenomenal loan spell at Leicester and fans are desperate to see him signed on a permanent deal, particularly after his Man of the Match display against Southampton.

According to LeicestershireLive, The Foxes will be obligated to sign him for £14.7m if they are to gain promotion.

That appears more than likely to happen now with City sitting on 94 points, only needing three more from the remaining six available.

That fee would be an absolute bargain given he only celebrated his 20th birthday last month. Fatawu has plenty of time to develop and become even better than he already is.
