Missile shelling of Kharkiv - Russian army hits residential complex

During the missile shelling of Kharkiv by the Russian army tonight, April 24, they targeted a residential complex in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, according to the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov.

"There was a targeted strike on a residential complex in the Shevchenkivskyi district," the mayor said.

He added that according to preliminary data, Russian forces used an S-300 missile for this attack on the city.

There is currently no information about casualties from the enemy shelling.

"As of now, there are no casualties. The inspection of the impact sites is ongoing," said Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

The official added that due to the rocket strike on Kharkiv, there was destruction of civilian infrastructure.

Later, the city hall clarified that two people were injured as a result of the Russian rocket strike on Kharkiv.

"It is known about two injured - both with shrapnel wounds. They are already being treated by doctors. Search and rescue operation is ongoing at the scene. All relevant services are working," he wrote.

According to updated information, the Russian army hit Kharkiv with two S-300 missiles, Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Regional Military Administration, later reported.

"Four apartment buildings have damaged windows and exterior finishes," he wrote on Telegram.

He also clarified that the condition of the two injured was assessed as minor, and they were provided with medical assistance on the spot.

Night shelling of Kharkiv

Earlier, it was reported that strong explosions were heard in Kharkiv around 00:35 on the night of April 24 during an air raid alert.

As representatives of the city and regional authorities reported, Kharkiv was under enemy missile attack, likely using ballistic missiles.
