Three things that will definitely happen if Arne Slot is appointed as Liverpool manager

There are some things that will definitely happen if Arne Slot is appointed as Liverpool’s next manager.

It’s not quite over the line yet, but it’s looking more and more likely that Arne Slot will be Liverpool’s next manager.

He will be a shock candidate to many, given his name has surfaced out of nowhere. However, Slot does seem like an ideal fit.

He’s affable with the media, plays an exciting brand of football and is still relatively young in his coaching career.

That’s pretty much every box ticked in terms of the main criteria of what Liverpool fans want to see at Anfield.

The first thing that will happen if Arne Slot is appointed as Liverpool manager

It may be obvious to some, but if Arne Slot is appointed as Liverpool’s new manager, it’s looking like he will bring some of his own coaching staff from Feyenoord with him.

This could include his current assistant manager, Sipke Hulshoff. The pair have known each other and have worked together during their time at SC Cambuur back in 2016.

Hulshoff is currently Slot’s assistant manager at Feyenoord and he is highly regarded. He’s also working as an assistant manager for the Dutch national team, so he’s already got experience training with the likes of Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk as well.

What else may happen if Slot is appointed as Liverpool manager?

If Slot becomes Liverpool manager, we should expect some changes in the playing squad as well. Not everyone will fit into Slot’s philosophy.

Some players may want to leave. Others may be brought in as well. However, given Slot doesn’t differ too much in terms of his preferred formation and style to Klopp, there won’t be major changes afoot.

Slot’s appointment means continuity, which is exactly what Liverpool wanted. He will ensure things will operate in relatively the same way and that will give the club’s players massive assurances as well.

And what else may happen?

Finally, we will put an end to the longstanding saga that has gone on for the last few months. Liverpool will be able to focus on merely on field matters.

FSG’s and Michael Edwards’ attention meanwhile will turn towards the promise of finding a new club to bring under the ownership’s umbrella.

That has been the target since Edwards returned to work under FSG, and we should see more movement on that once the important things have been settled when it comes to Klopp’s replacement.
