Gers told price-tag for "phenomenal" 24-goal striker linked with Ibrox move

Rangers will be looking to add more firepower in the summer transfer window with Philippe Clement likely to have a clinical striker near the top of his shopping list.

Cyriel Dessers numbers speak for themself after a slow start and Danilo looked promising before injury all but ended his season, but a replacement for Kemar Roofe is essential.

One player who has been mentioned in the past and knows how to score goals in Scotland is Bojan Miovski who has had a hefty price tag put on his head.

Rangers would have to dig deep for Bojan Miovski

Successful Rangers teams of the past always had a core of domestic talent and it is an issue the current manager wants to put right.

Walter Smith used to load his teams with the best of the rest and both Dick Advocaat and Alex McLeish loved a local bargain.

Recently though, Rangers have got more wrong than right.

Ryan Jack will be the best player signed from Scottish shores, however, he has missed more games than he has played since 2017.

Players like Scott Wright and Greg Stewart didn’t really add quality to the Rangers squad, if anything, all they did was block players coming through from the academy.

There is a reason they were so cheap, unlike Miovski who, according to Jonny McFarlane of the Rangers Review, might be out of Philippe Clement’s price range.

McFarlane was speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on Tuesday 23 of April when he said about Bojan Miovski:

“I think he is a phenomenal talent. I really, really like him, I think he would be the perfect signing.

“I don’t think there is any doubt that Aberdeen are going to ask for top, top money for this guy.

“It will depend on how much interest there is, but I would not be surprised if Aberdeen will be looking for £8million for Miovksi.”

Rangers have missed the boat for Miovski

The North Macedonia international has the best conversion rate in the Premiership at 16% which shows that, in a better team creating better chances, he could potentially score even more than his current 24 goals for this campaign.

In terms of big chances missed, players liked Cyriel Dessers and Kyogo Furuhashi are both above him on the list too.

Aberdeen might well be looking for £8m but would probably accept less given that they only paid around £600,000 for him.

And this is the annoying thing.

Look at some of the players Rangers have signed since 2016 and what we have paid.

Walter Smith would always have a couple of bankers in his forward line but would then take a couple of cheap punts too.

In short, Rangers shouldn’t be signing players like Bojan Mijovski from Aberdeen, they should have signed him before he went there from MTK Budapest.
