'I think': Sergio Busquets now opens up on if he regrets Inter Miami transfer

Sergio Busquets has now revealed if he has any regrets over leaving European giants FC Barcelona to join Inter Miami last year.

The legendary Spanish midfielder was one of three huge signings the Herons made last summer as Busquets joined Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami, with the trio since being joined by fellow former Barcelona star Luis Suarez.

This season has seen the quartet lead Inter Miami to the top of the MLS Supporters’ Shield standings with Busquets emerging as one of Tata Martino’s most trusted players and someone who is being used to get the best out of Messi and company.

Busquets says joining Inter Miami from Barcelona was ‘the right decision’

Speaking to journalist Favian Renkel, Busquets admitted that he is happy with his decision to swap Catalonia for Florida, with the 35-year-old revealing he is enjoying his new life in MLS with Inter Miami.

Busquets said: “I’m very happy, and I knew that I had to come to get the experience first hand, but I had been following the league from back when I was in Europe and I think every day I notice I made the right decision.”

Indeed, the move to Inter Miami and Florida is one that every player in the last 12 months is glad they made, with Messi and Suarez enjoying their soccer greatly this season in MLS alongside Busquets and Alba.

And with the success of the Inter Miami project could come more players who want to make the move to MLS, with the next few years set to be huge for the North American division.

Busquets comments could inspire more superstars to move to MLS

MLS’s reputation has never been as high as it currently is, with Messi and company enjoying their time at Inter Miami and giving the league real credibility that’s been missing for some years.

And Busquets’ comments could lead to some big-name players soon making their own moves to MLS, with the league only going to get bigger from here on out with Inter Miami leading the way.

With roster changes on their way, MLS teams will soon have more freedom to spend big bucks on some top names, and the likes of Busquets moving to Inter Miami has been the catalyst for such a change.
