'It's a done deal': Dutch journalist has just made big claim involving Liverpool

Speculation regarding Liverpool and their pursuit of a new manager has intensified massively in recent days.

For months, we’ve had reports linking the Reds with the likes of Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim, but they never seemed to pick up much pace.

However, over the past couple of days, speculation emerged involving Liverpool and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, which has seemingly been moving quickly.

On Tuesday, multiple reports came out claiming the Reds had made the 45-year-old their top target and that he ticked all of the club’s boxes.

Today, we’ve been getting reports claiming Liverpool have been in talks with both Slot and Feyenoord with a view to getting a deal over the line.

For instance, TBR Football sources claimed today that the Reds have decided to press ahead and discuss terms with the Dutch giants after speaking to Slot.

The Feyenoord’s boss enthusiasm impressed Liverpool, as well as his knowledge and detailed plans in terms of the direction he would like the club to go, according to sources.

Now, Dutch journalist Steve Kooijman has made a big claim on talkSPORT – namely that he feels it’s a “done deal” and that Slot is “100 percent” Liverpool-bound.

When asked whether he felt Slot would become the next Liverpool manager, Kooijman said: “100 percent.

“Yeah, we know him quite a bit and know Feneyoord as well. They’re looking already looking for a new manager – it’s a done deal, yeah.”

It’s great to see that things are moving in the right direction with regards to Liverpool’s search for a new manager, especially given we’re still in April.

Normally it’s difficult to get a top manager on board at the business end of the season, as the top clubs are still competing for the biggest honours.

However, in Feyenoord’s case, they’ve already won the Dutch Cup this season, and they’re nine points behind Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven with just four games to go.

In addition, it looks as though Feyenoord’s board is willing to let Slot go, all of which has culminated in Liverpool being able to get the ball rolling ahead of the season’s end.
