Tottenham Hotspur invite ‘incredible’ £55m player’s family to watch North London derby

Tottenham Hotspur will surely look towards signing an attacking midfield player this summer in an attempt to offer support to James Maddison.

Maddison was a major signing last summer and started the season in superb form.

An injury suffered against Chelsea in November left Maddison on the sidelines though and he has yet to find his absolute top form.

Maddison has managed just one goal and two assists in 12 games since his return from injury in January.

We still believe in Maddison but adding another creative midfield player just to help share the burden of Tottenham’s creativity would be welcomed.

Speculation surrounding a potential move for Fenerbahce playmaker Sebastian Szymanski has been rife with a £17million offer reportedly in the plans.

Szymanski has never been tested in a top league though with his experience coming in Poland, Russia, the Netherlands and Turkey.

The 24-year-old has racked up 17 assists this season but Tottenham may look a little closer to home…

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Eberechi Eze

Reports from Football Transfers claim that Tottenham are now ‘intensifying their pursuit’ of Eberechi Eze in the hope of luring him away from Crystal Palace.

It’s even stated that Tottenham have invited some of Eze’s family members to this weekend’s North London derby against Arsenal as ‘special guests’.

The report claims that Manchester City are keen too but Eze would actually prefer a move to Tottenham.

Eze hails from London and would like to stay in the capital, something Tottenham can offer.

A fee of around £55million is mentioned and Ange Postecoglou will allegedly – according to this report – have up to £250million to spend on new signings.

That seems very high considering that Tottenham are currently set to finish outside of the Champions League places.

It sounds like Tottenham want to get the wheels moving on a potential deal for Eze, so let’s just hope his family like what they see on Sunday, if the invitation is true.

Eze versatility and skill exciting for Tottenham

Eze has predominantly played as a number 10 this season but he has plenty of experience playing on the left flank.

That versatility would allow Postecoglou to go with Maddison and Eze in the same team if he so wishes, adding real flair to the Tottenham side.

The 25-year-old has hit eight goals and three assists this season and has earned a reputation as one of the most skilful players in the Premier League.

Eze has outstanding technical ability and isn’t afraid of pulling off a trick or two, dazzling defenders throughout his time in the top flight.

Hailed as ‘incredible’ by Palace teammate Joel Ward, Eze may now be ready for the next step in his career.

Tottenham may well represent that opportunity for Eze and the thought of seeing his creativity either centrally or in from the left flank should be enough to excite Spurs fans everywhere.
