'Is he playing?': Stephen Warnock names the Liverpool youngster who has been better than Darwin Nunez recently

Stephen Warnock was not pleased by Darwin Nunez’s performance against Everton on Wednesday night.

A defeat at Goodison Park is always a crushing blow for Liverpool. But a defeat at this stage of the season is a resounding setback for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Everyone wanted this to be a fairy tale ending for the Liverpool boss, but it now seems to be heading towards a disappointing and futile flutter.

Liverpool are now out of the Premier League title race, and they’ve only got themselves to blame. During the last few games, they’ve been completely off the pace.

And have squandered chance after chance. Most notably, one man in particular in Darwin Nunez.

Stephen Warnock compares Jayden Danns to Darwin Nunez

Nunez failed to win a single duel for Liverpool in this game, and missed a couple of clear chances, including one that he really should have scored in the first-half.

He will be bitterly disappointed with his performance and very frustrated as well. There is no denying things are just not clicking for him in the way they clicked for him at the start of the season.

Former Liverpool defender, Stephen Warnock, was clearly very frustrated by his performance as well.

Warnock took to X to compare Nunez to Liverpool youngster Jayden Danns, and suggest the 18-year-old has made more impact than the Uruguayan this season.

Does Jayden Danns deserve a start for Liverpool?

Danns is one of Liverpool’s most exciting youth prospects at the moment. He’s scored 26 goals for Liverpool at all levels this season, including two goals in the first team.

In the last few weeks, we have not seen much of him. However, with Diogo Jota ruled out again, and Nunez in poor form, this could be his moment to shine.

While Warnock is a little bit unfair to suggest Danns has shown more composure than Nunez, because the Uruguayan has come up clutch several times for Liverpool this season, he does make an important point.

Danns does have a lot of composure for his age and he has demonstrated that several times this season. He definitely deserves a chance in these last four games that are now left for Liverpool.
