Simon Jordan reacts after hearing FA will hit back over what Tottenham have done

Simon Jordan has now backed Tottenham Hotspur after the FA have reacted to something the club have now done.

There is an awful lot still to play for at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season with six games remaining in their season.

Champions League football could still be achieved, but a win for Aston Villa on Saturday will provide Tottenham with a mountain to climb.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side have improved drastically to what fans saw last season under Antonio Conte but there is still room for improvement.

And that could well come through potential signings made over the course of the summer transfer window.

But prior to the window opening, there is a lot to still unfold for Tottenham with a lot of extra money still potentially to be made.

Simon Jordan has now stood up for Daniel Levy and the Lilywhites over a financial situation which has now seen the FA become involved.

Although Spurs are not going to come under any punishment, it is apparent the governing body are not too pleased with what the club have done.

Simon Jordan leaps to the defence of Daniel Levy and Tottenham after FA development

Six games remain in Tottenham’s season as they strive to land a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Either way, it looks like Postecoglou’s men will be qualifying for some form of Europe next season with a seven point gap to sixth place (having played a game less).

And European qualification will see the Spurs squad tested with extra games needing to be played in comparison to the basic schedule they have experienced this term.

However, Tottenham’s season will not end with the away trip to Sheffield United next month. Spurs will then immediately jet off for a friendly against Newcastle United in Australia.

And it is a decision which has not gone down well with the FA who are concerned about player welfare.

It is now claimed by The Times that the FA could bring an end to post-season friendlies with the players’ health in mind.

The TalkSPORT pundit will have plenty of experience in dealing with the Spurs chairman from his time as the owner of Crystal Palace.

Jordan does not always have positive words to say on Levy, however, in this case, the 56-year-old was in full support of what Tottenham are doing.

“So basically the FA that have abdicated all responsibility over 32 years since the conception of the Premier League, they have allowed themselves to be emasculated turned into a eunuch of a governance are happily waving in the independent regulator because they’re so gutless and spineless to have done their jobs in the first place are going to pop up and tell football clubs how they should run their commercial operation because the international framework and a manager that may well be out of a job after the European Championships isn’t won by the England team.”

How much could the friendly in Australia be worth to Tottenham?

With a number of international tournaments coming up over the summer, it probably isn’t the ideal start to the summer which the players would have hoped for.

However, the Tottenham players are going to have to get used to playing extra games ahead of next season.

And clearly, this is a commercial move which was seen as worthwhile by the club with Jordan previously saying just how much this could be worth to the club.

“Well that’s why I was asking the question, ‘what is it worth now?’ Small millions, right, but clearly there is a reason behind it because you’ve got two football clubs; one of them, in Newcastle who have a completely different approach to money than the other,” he said.

“We know that Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy runs his football club in a certain way and no one can deny the economics of it. It’s successful, the trophy cabinet empty. Newcastle don’t have that problem, their owners want to spend money like drunken sailors, but they can’t.”
