'Proper good': Cesc Fabregas names the three Man City players who'd be in his dream five-a-side team

Cesc Fabregas has named the three current Manchester City players who would be in his dream five-a-side team.

It is safe to say that the former Chelsea midfielder was spoilt for choice.

Erling Haaland had claimed that he would love to have Ederson Moraes in his five-a-side team because he felt that if his City teammate had the chance to shoot, he would score 15 goals.

Alongside Manuel Neuer and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the £35 million man is possibly the best fit as a goalkeeper for a five-a-side game due to how comfortable he is in possession.

In defence, Josko Gvardiol would be a brilliant pick for such a format of a game as well.

The Croatian international would potentially consider five-a-side football a piece of cake, as he has the technical ability to manipulate the ball in tight areas and can carry the ball for fun on a smaller pitch.

Fabregas names three City players who’d get in his five-a-side team

One questions is if Gvardiol would even be used as a defender, as someone with his technique and dribbling ability could even play in midfield in five-a-side.

However, the 22-year-old is also brilliant at defending out wide and inside the box, which is a key trait for a centre-back to have in five-a-side.

In midfield, Rodri would certainly dominate.

The Spanish international could be deployed anywhere in could be deployed anywhere in five-a-side and he would thrive due to how technically brilliant and strong he is.

Plus, Rodri is elite defensively and in such a small pitch, he would be impossible to get past.

However, Fabregas went a different route when it came to his picks.

Cesc Fabregas chose Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva in his dream five-a-side team.

“Kyle Walker, a proper good defender in there, the speed as well, but with five-a-side you don’t really need to sprint that much,”

“[Phil] Foden would be very good in five-a-side and Bernardo Silva would be very good. It’s all about technique in my team”, he told Sport Bible [via TikTok].

Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva are class picks

In our view, Cesc Fabregas has made brilliant picks for his five-a-side team by choosing Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

As Fabregas stated, Walker is just an outstanding defender and if he ever has to chase an attacker, he has the speed to do so.

Similarly, technically gifted players reign supreme in five-a-side and Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden may be the two best in this regard at Manchester City, which is why the Spaniard made the right calls by picking the pair.

It is tough to imagine a five-a-side team including the City trio that lose even a single game.

If Cesc Fabregas imparts his wisdom to Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva, opposition sides would have little to no chance of stopping them.
